"My guru wants me to regularly note my impressions, but I have no desire to keep a diary. Why write? I don’t wish to be read, these notes are dull and insipid...I write these things as if they were of some importance: but in fact they are only a frame surrounding an essential content. It is easier to describe the frame, but the content, the painting itself with all its richness of colors, its warm intimacy... All these pages are devoid of the description of this content although its plenitude is in my heart. And it is silence and peace." (September 1950).
